Who are we
Ocean Nomads is a support ecosystem for people building a life around the ocean, connecting each other through community, skills, and opportunities to bring the ocean lifestyle, dreams, expeditions, and projects to life.
We are sailors, freedivers, surfers, vanlifers, off-grid explorers, and above all: curious souls. What unites us is a love for the ocean, a determination to live healthily and consciously, and a desire to make a positive impact.
We connect adventure, community, and impact through sailing trips, shared learning, and a growing network of people and projects rooted in life in, on, and near the sea.
Ocean Nomads is about building a different relationship with the ocean and with how we move through the world.
Why we exist
The ocean gives us freedom, perspective, and life itself. Yet it is under increasing pressure. At the same time, many people feel disconnected from nature, from meaningful community, and from ways of living that feel aligned.
Ocean Nomads exists to bridge that gap.
We believe that when people experience the ocean deeply and responsibly, care follows naturally. And when care is shared through community, it turns into action.
We also know that stepping into a different way of living, following those big, wild ideas, can feel exciting, but also uncertain and lonely.
That’s why we connect each other, sharing tools, support, and opportunities, so you don’t have to do it alone.
Our Story
Ocean Nomads grew out of a dream to sail the world with purpose and contribution, not only to travel.
That dream led to years of traveling by sail, living simply, and learning first-hand how powerful adventure becomes when it is shared and approached with care.
What started with the book Ocean Nomad (2017) slowly evolved into a growing network of members, vessels, expeditions, and impact projects.
Since officially forming in 2020, Ocean Nomads has supported hundreds of ocean-minded adventurers through real-world voyages, learning, and collaboration.

Sailing trips and expeditions where skills are learned through experience, trust is built onboard, and connection grows naturally. We organized 25+ ocean expeditions in +14 different countries, including transatlantic crossings

A global member network that helps people find each other, share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and feel supported while choosing a nature-led lifestyle.
