Ocean nomads in Cabo Verde

When I heard about the offshore ON trip from the Canaries to Cabo Verde I was thrilled – finally, some ocean nomads in Cabo Verde! In my two years on São Vicente, I never had the chance to meet some fellow ocean nomads here. But then I found out the trip went to another island, what a pity!
But, shortly after their arrival, I got a message from Simon Neff. He was heading our way and asked if I knew anyone who needed help with their boat in exchange for accommodation. And if I knew? Our boat was the perfect candidate! We met up and clicked right away. Simon was happy to stay on our boat and lend a hand—win-win!
Soon, we met Aline Dequidt and Pierre, who told us all about their beautiful project. A week later, Lovisa Oosterhof arrived, and just like that, the ocean nomad family in São Vicente was complete!
Together, we had an absolute blast—boat work, dinner parties, carnival parades, tattoo sessions, pontoon parties… and of course, the amazing #climatefresk workshop hosted by Aline and Pierre. It was incredible to have the ocean nomads’ energy all around.
Now, Aline, Pierre, and Simon have all found a ride across the Atlantic ocean to continue their incredible adventure. I wish them an epic and safe crossing and an amazing time on the other side. I’m so grateful to have had them here and to be immersed in the ocean nomads’ vibe for a few weeks.
To all other ocean nomads out there—if you’re heading to #CaboVerde, let’s #MeetUpAndTeamUp!
