As the Ocean Nomads network grows, more and more sailing travel opportunities are offered and created by members from all over the world, as well as by us as an organization.
Here’s a snapshot of a few current sailing possibilities to get the ocean in your veins and jump on board to experience travelling by sail. Some crewing opportunities are by vessel members. Some are organized by us as an Organization. All with similar values and intentions to connect you to the ocean, adventure and a meaningful way of travel. We currently have 3 vessel recrewting for an Atlantic Crossing! Join the tribe to get connected and to accelerate your ocean nomads lifestyle with adventure, impact, and community.
Sail the Coast of Portugal from Algarve to the North
We’re super stoked to have two support vessels confirmed for the Mission Atlantis expedition this spring. From the next new moon at the end of May until full moon we’ll be sailing the coast of Portugal to celebrate and activate ocean love, adventure, impact, and community. The expedition includes 5 stops, featuring ocean films, talks, stories, workshops, clean-ups, freediving, SUPping, meet-ups, and team-ups

Sail the Caribbean and across the Atlantic
“Do you want to have a unique sailing experience in the company of your friends or your family? Come to sail with us in an old pirate boat style from 70’s.
We have 5 spots available to do the Atlantic crossing from West to East. One of the big challenges for sailing lovers.
This trip is for people who want to get more sailing experience and have the dream to cross an ocean.
The boarding place will be in Martinique where we will make the main provisioning for the crossing (20 to 45 days food). We will keep sailing in the Caribbean Island for about 10 days to make everybody knows the boat and do some sailing lessons.”

Sail Greece to Turkey

Sail the mini-Atlantic circuit; Algarve – Madeira – Azores – Lisbon – Algarve
“I would like one or two crew to join me. I’ve done quite a lot of solo sailing the last 2/3 years but this year would like a more social summer, hopefully meeting more people and get to know some Ocean Nomads
Preferably crew will have some sailing experience as you will be taking watches but a good vibe on board will be just as important! I plan to take my time around the islands, with a mix of anchoring and marinas, exploring, hiking, diving, eating/drinking out…. You are welcome to join for all or just part of the trip.”
Vessel: Starlight 35, (11m)
Timeframe: June-July-August 2022
Location Portugal Algarve / Madeira / Azores.
Sailing Croatia
“Anybody looking to sail Croatia before season? “I will charter a boat from the 13. April until the 23. April. You only need to pay for your share of food and gas/marina fees. We will be a mixed crew all under 35.
Sailing across the Atlantic West to East
The ship is currently sailing in & around Sint Maarten & will set sail to Azores somewhere in May.
The idea is to crew up around the 3d of May in Sint Maarten and sail around in the Caribbean a bit before we start the crossing. Im thinking to sail to Dominican Republic or The British Virgin Islands but everything is open for suggestions 🙂 From there we will prepare & wait for a good window to sail to the Azores. We might stop for a quick pit stop in Bermuda but if the winds are in our favour we might as well sail in one go.
I’m looking for nomads with sailing experience and nomads who are not that experienced yet and want to learn more about offshore sailing (great mile builder).
As a crew we will all take part in the watch system to navigate the boat through open waters day & night and as well in the normal household of the boat.
I will ask for a small daily contribution and we will all share the cost for food, drinks, diesel and harbour fees. (However we try to anchor as much as possible)

On our boat we are learning our kids to care and respect every breathing thing. We are looking for crew member to help is sail our boat back to Holland from Sint-Maarten, we want to start heading back from begin april.”

Long term crew wanted in Western Caribbean

Who is looking for a beautiful boat over summer? 🙂
Get a crew together! Here’s a boat available for use!
“Hola dear OceanNomads. As you perhaps know we recently bought a beautiful sailboat. Right now we are working hard in the boatyard to get her safe and sound again. Should be back in the water soon! Before continuing on sailing further we have decided to go back home to work over the summer. Our sailboat is a little bit too big for the lakes in Switzerland and will stay here in the Canaries for those few months. Now we are looking for someone who wants to take care of her and maybe sail her during that time (May-Nov)? 🙂
Perhaps she could be a base for a digital nomad? We are very open for good ideas! Just contact us, then we’ll have a chat and see what could work out. She is a Van de Stadt 43 and would sleep 4 people comfortably (1 double + 2 single).”

Sail the Coast of Portugal this spring / summer

“My husband and I would like to take down our vessel from Galicia to the Mediterranean this summer. Now we are thinking about taking one crew with us to share watches and other boat tasks. The trip would start in late May/June in Galicia and the first leg would be to the Algarves. After that we have to do the Strait of Gibraltar and our destination is going to be Sardinia.
What you can and what you can‘t expect:
Our vessel, a Westerly Seahawk 34 (1986), is a well prepared boat and we have sailed her for more than 4000 NM along the coast as well as offshore in the last two years. So we are an experienced team :-).
You will have a small double cabin to yourself (just have to share with the spinaker sail ;-)).”

“What I hoped to gain from this community was the option of finding crew. Instead what I found is a collection of people who get what I do, who understand why we make certain choices and who are willing to support each other. And that is something i needed way more than just someone to sail with.” Vessel Member Michiel
“The big opportunity of this platform is, that we all are driven by the same spirit. That makes it easy to build up a team aboard, for me the most important thing out on the ocean. Sailing skills are not as important as many people believe, you will learn everything you must know in less than one week, I promise. ” – Vessel Member & Captain Wolfgang
“I always had the dream to go sailing one day. But, like many, I did not grow up with sailing and I thought it’s something for the very wealthy. Now, thanks to the Ocean Nomads, I know different.. Last summer I had my first sailing experience on an Ocean Nomad Sailing Trip in Spain. I initially signed up for one week, but ended up staying 1,5 months, and sailed as part of the crew from Northern Spain to the Canaries Islands. On this trip, I met a lot of like-minded people with similar goals and dreams. I also realized that it is possible to learn sailing in a low-key, affordable way. After this trip, I got so inspired that I decided to buy my own sailboat. After some research, I decided to buy a previous sailboat of an Ocean Nomad friend that I just met, and together we sailed the boat from Ireland to Spain. Thanks to him I gained enough confidence to continue on my own. Without Ocean Nomads this would not have been possible. So if you are slightly interested in sailing, the ocean, meeting like-minded people and perhaps want to join a sailing trip in the future, have a look into Ocean Nomads!- Nadiem” March
