We did it! Sailing Canary Islands to Cape Verde. A Recap

A recap of our Offshore Skillbuilding Adventure from the Canary Islands to Cape Verde: 850 nautical miles, hand steered, crew for life. This crossing sails again in December 2026.

The first Offshore ON Class of 2025 in Cape Verde

Here’s a little recap of our recent Offshore Skillbuilding Adventure from the Canary Islands to Cape Verde.

Crew at the helm sailing from the Canary Islands to Cape Verde

At the end of January, we set sail from Canary Islands to Cape Verde. An offshore skill building trip and training has been in great demand. With one of our best skippers Thomas beyond excited to run it, co-skippered by our super ambassadors Paula and love, and with a legendary crew lined up we had the most important ingredients to make this a trip of a lifetime.

This kind of trip isn’t for champagne sailing. This is a serious ocean adventure in challenging conditions. A wild environment to learn a lot, fast, especially teamwork. Your life depends on it.

And wow how proud we are on how Captain and Crew has created the voyage.

850 Nautical Miles of wild blue. They hand steered the full trip for maximum learning and strong arm purposes. Just human hands, intuition and teamwork.

Taking the helm is more than just a skill. It’s trust, focus, awareness, and learning to work with the elements instead of against them for next level ocean connection.
